Mesutchi/ Oseutchi Guide

Mesutchi/ Osutchi

The mesutchi/ osutchi pair were the first tamagotchi ever to have a mating function. This mating function was so that they can mate with each other. The mesutchi is considered the female tamagotchi, and all characters that can be raised on it, are female and likewise the osutchi is the male tamagotchi and all characters on it are male. The mate by interconnecting at the top which I think is a pretty awesome way to breed, they actually attach to each other to be mate. The shells are colour coordinated so it’s not too tricky to figure out which is the male and female counter parts.

This growth cycles on this tama are closer to that of the P1 and the P2 in longer evolution times, so gone are the fast paced ways of the Angelgotch, but once your adults are old enough and compatible they can mate so I guess there is that.

Starting up
Starting up is pretty much the same as with the P1/P2 and the angel. After either the tab is pulled or the batteries are popped in (LR44) you will see an egg on the screen. Now nothing will happen until you set the clock. The clock on the osutchi/ mesutchi pair is the same as the others that we have seen so far for the vintages. A to cycle through the hours, B to cycle through the minutes and C to confirm your time. Once you have the time set you will have 5 minutes to wait for your eggs to hatch. (I say eggs as I am assuming you are running both so you can mate them).

They hatched!
You are now the proud parent of two tama babies and you are doubting your life choices as 2 babies can get pretty crazy. As with any other tamagotchi it is best to know exactly where everything is so you can take care of them! So let’s run through those Icons, they are the same between shell types and between the osutchi and mesutchi.

Status meter:
This is in the same spot as the angel your first Icon! The first screen is the hungry meter, the second screen is the happy meter, the third screen is discipline (out of 12), and lastly the age and weight screen. Age is in years (1 tama year = 1 day) and they age when they wake up, as with other vintage tamagotchis.

Food:
What would a tamagotchi be without the option of food? This one is more like the P1, we have meals on the top that fill 1 hungry heart and add 1 pound to the weight, and on the bottom we have snack which fills the happy by 1 heart and adds 2 pounds to weight. Something to note about weight if they are 99 pounds  they balloon up into very large blobs that take up the whole screen! They will transform back into their normal form when their weight drops to 80 ( I think).

Game:
As with every tamagotchi (thus far) we have a game, because if they balloon up with being too heavy there must be a way to manage the pudge. This game is very similar to the flag game on the V3 connection (I actually think that the osutchi/mesutchi is the inspiration for this game). In the osu/mesutchi you need to guess which flag they are holding when he stops. So watch until you know the pattern and press either A or B corresponding to the flag. You get 5 tries.

Toilet:
Standard tamagotchi toilet. If angels poop then you get bet your toast that the  osutchi/ mesutchi will poop too. And like anyone they don’t like being around their poop and it can make them sick. So clean it up.

Discipline:
This is very much the same discipline as on the P1/ P2. When your tamagotchi has at least 1 hungry and happy heart and it calls for you for no reason you need to discipline it this fills the discipline bar. If you are running two they will call for discipline (and everything else) really close together if you hatched them at the same time.

Medicine:
When they get sick they need medicine, like any other tamagotchi (or person). They may need more than one dose depending on how sick they are.
Lights:
When they go to bed they need you to be a hero and turn off their light. They need to get a proper nights sleep! In the morning they turn it on, so you only need to worry about turning it off.

Now comes to never before seen icons on a tamagotchi and one, is unique to this tamagotchi and the other turns into the connection icon.

TMP:
This is a crowned smiley face. There are two visible screens the first shows you your TMP power indicated by up to 4 crowns. These indicate which tier you have moved up to on the growth chart. Each tier has it’s unique babies, toddlers, teens and adults. To go up in the levels you need to mate, and I think care level is also a factor. The second screen is highly language heavy and likely refers to generation, or your mating partner.

Mate:
Two jagged interlocking halves oa heart, you can only do this if you have an adult on both the osutchi and mesutchi and they are of age. If not they will shake their heads. When they get excited it’s time to mate. This is when you need to pop the caps off each unit and connect them together. Then you need to press B on the osutchi if you see ‘OK’ on the screen they are connected properly. Press A or B again and things will carry on from there. DO NOT DISCONNECT when they are mating bad things happen.

Attention Icon:
The classic attention icon so you know when they need you (and if the beeping isn’t a dead give away)

Notes:
There are 20 different characters for each the mesutchi and osuetchi and the characters have their own opposite gender counterpart which I think is super cute, and results in similar but not identical characters from the same care level given. In fact the characters featured on the osutechi/ mesutchi appear on later releases (7 characters on the connection V2, and 12 on the connection V3).

Characters will actually sulk if they are treated badly which I think is so cute, along with the chubs character when they reach 99 pounds gives this tamagotchi release some really unique animations.

After you mate you will take care of the adults until comes the time for the adults to leave, leaving you to care for their baby.

I also like how they have the growth chart broken up based on the TMP

The growth chart

I found this one on tamatalk, I think it’s quite clear and I like it. So no I did not make it someone awesome on tamatalk did.
