Angelgotch Guide

Angelgotch

The Angelgotch or Tamagotchi angel was released in both Japanese and English with a pearly shell and silver wings on the shell. In this one you are raising an angel and helping them earn their wings (become a good angel of course by doing good deeds). I have to admit I love the idea of the angel (and one day I will run it properly)

Starting up your angel is very similar to the P1 and P2 tamagotchi. You are going to either pull the tab, or pop in fresh batteries (LR44). The first thing you will need to do is set the time, first press B to get to the clock screen.  A button to cycle through the hours, B to cycle through the minutes and C to confirm your time (you can change the time later). Your angel will never come if you don’t set the time.

It will take 5 minutes for your angel to find it’s way to your tamagotchi so be patient, have a dance party poke your pet, check your instagram. Whatever you do you will have 5 minutes to do it in, don’t worry your angel will alert you with chirps and beeps that it has arrived.

It hatched!
So you now have a very cute baby angel, which will hang around for a solid 24 hours (not the hour you are expecting). This means that the baby won’t be so crazy needy, don’t get me wrong it will still be needy but not insanely needy. Right after your angel has arrived, you will see the attention icon all lit up. And now it all falls to you to care for this celestial little creature.

Icons
Meter
This is your health meter it has all the helpful information about your angel that you need, such as hungry and happy, angel power (Tamagotchi angel power), and age. Angel Power is the primary indicator or what character you get, go big or go home the higher it is  the healthier angel you will get. The first screen is age in days and your TP/AP. The next screen in good deeds, this is like the training meter. The next screen is the hungry meter, and the last screen is the happy meter

Food
As the name suggests this is where the food is hiding. The top choice is Pie (sweet I know) Pie fills the hungry meter, 1 pie = 1 heart. The bottom choice is candy, this increases the AP/TP, 1 candy = 2TP/AP. A really fun thing about this tama is that sometimes when you are trying to feed them candy a bat will try to steal it! And you have to scare away the bat. (by tapping your tamagotchi gently), if the bat gets the candy you lose points on the good deeds meter.

Shooting star
This is the game for your angel, games are the only way to increase the happiness meter. This game is simple you jump over the shooting stars, you have 5 tries ⅗ =1 happy heart, 5/5 = 2 happy hearts. Both A and B will jump, and C will cancel the game.

Bathroom (the butt with wings or the Duck)
I just love this icon, a butt with wings ( US version will have a roll of toilet paper) This operates as the typical poop cleaning icon. All tama’s poop even angelic ones. Clean their poop so they don’t get sick.

Praise:
When the attention icon is light up and they have at least one hungry heart and one happy heart, and it may beep for you (sometimes it won’t) When it does it will probably be looking at you surrounded by stars doing a special movement  you need to praise it. It is telling you you did a good deed and you need to tell it good job, this increases the good deeds meter.

If you praise it and it doesn’t need to your angel will smile at you, but the happy meter will drop a heart

The praise icon has a second function! What? I know! When you angel takes a stroll, yes they do that, this is when you check on them and your angel just isn’t there. If you are running the US version the screen will be blank (that sounds scary) with the attention icon lit up, if you are running the Japanese version you will see a door with the attention icon lit. It will make like a teenager sneaking out, so don’t expect it to beep at you. You have to be vigilant and lucky to catch it. How often it goes for strolls depends on age and character the older the more walks it will go on.

So what do you do? Select the praise icon and gently tap the the shell (like to scare away a bat). This will call your angel back, each character has it’s own entrance style!

Medicine:
Like any tamagotchi angels get sick and they need to have medicine to get better, they make take up to 3 doses to get well. Angels don’t like the medicine (who truly does). You will know they are sick when they have a big scary skull floating above their heads.

Light:
When they are sleeping your angel needs a proper night’s rest so make sure to turn off the light. Angel’s are scared of the dark so don’t turn off the light when they are awake. They will be sick immediately. And depending on your character and age they could die.

Attention Icon:
This is how you know your angel needs you they beep (but you may have them muted) so they have the attention icon. They may need to be fed, they may need to play a game, they may need some praise, or they are sick or the AP/TP meter is empty.

So now what?
Well your angel has a faster growth rate that you are accustomed to on a vintage (it’s closer to that of the colours well almost). You will have the baby for the typical hour ish after that it will evolve into child form. It will remain at this stage for 24 hours then you have the teen stage which again lasts for 24 hours.. So by day three you should have an adult (also no teenage angels here). Secret characters usually evolve ~2 days after you have your adult. Angels have about half of the normal life span of a typical tamagotchi (P1 and P2) so they typically reach age 15.
Again this is not my picture I found it and this is the one that I use when I am running my angel. It also shows the secret characters.
Tip from me: To get deberuitchi (the devil) so this is my tried and true method to get a devil on your angel. Start your angel up once it's hatched turn the sound off and ignore the thing for at least a week or so and then you will see the devil with a poop. You can't do anything once you have the devil so do keep that in mind.

Each angel has a max TP/AP level
You cannot make your angel do good deeds. They do that all on their own. When it’s a baby don’t expect it to beep at you, so watch it if it does a different animation attention icon is on and it has at least 1 hungry and 1 happy and TP/AP isn’t 0 praise it.

Death:
No one likes to talk about it but eventually your angel will leave you. Your angel has earned their wings and it’s time to move on. It’s sad but hey it’s for the best right? They go out and be awesome angels helping the world and you made it possible. There are two Deaths, the good death and the bad death. The good death you you will hear some low sad tones coming from your angel, what your angel will be doing depends on the character they will be both happy and sad/mad/ etc. It is time to go to it’s new home. Press B and you will see three screens, the right and the left are dark and the middle has a star the star will travel up to the top when it gets there it will US version- explode into twinkling stars and say thanks! If you have the Japanese it will scroll and say thanks!

The bad death is for angels who aren’t adults. If you neglect it enough as a baby it can die. In the bad death they will be sick and you can’t cure them. And you will see the words bye bye!
